Susan Byrd started Truewater in 2001 with the help of her husband, Robert Byrd, and her son, Chris Britt. Their goal was to bring the quality of IT support that large companies enjoyed to the small business market segment. Having run several small businesses, Susan understood their challenges and believed that providing her small business clients with quality IT services would help ensure their success.

After receiving her MBA, Susan worked for an IT services company in the Chicago area marketing UNIX based equipment and software to large corporations. Following that, she worked for The Aldridge Company in Houston, Texas doing technical writing and software beta testing. David Aldridge, Susan’s brother, is the founder of The Aldridge Company, which specializes in co-location services. She then worked as a regional manager for ComputerPrep, a publisher of computer training material.

Blessed with an entrepreneurial spirit she got from her father, Susan started her own computer training business. She focused on executive training which required a consultative, one-on-one approach to accommodate the fast paced, high demand schedules of her executive clients.

After marrying Robert Byrd in 1993, she and her husband started and sold several companies before forming Truewater as an IT services company in 2001.

Susan received a BA in English from the University of Texas at Austin and a MBA in Marketing and Finance from The University of Houston.
